An interactive & inspiring workshop about co-operatives for those new to the sector!
Few things are more important to the success of a company than
employing a staff team who believe in its purpose & principles.
Study after study has shown that companies who are viewed as ethical, mission-driven, and contributing to a "greater good" have more engaged employees, and are overall more profitable.
Let our award-winning educators introduce you, your staff, class or team to our incredible co-operative sector through our interactive ON Board program - and inspire a new generation of engaged employees, citizens & co-op champions!
(2 hrs, in-person or virtual)
What the ON Board program provides?
(Self-guided co-op learning)
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the co-operative business model, and its values and principles. Through one-on-one facilitation, co-learning and guided net-working, participants will explore the “co-operative advantage”, as we examine the structure and social impact of credit unions and co-operatives in Canada and around the world.
Our interactive co-op community map invites visitors to click through a world of incredibly diverse and dynamic co-operatives. From storytelling to self-directed learning, from solar energy to credit unions, there's something to engage everyone in this hands-on journey through our amazing co-operative sector!
Networking with other
Co-ops & Co-operators
We provide a unique opportunity to co-learn, collaborate and connect with co-operative champions from across Ontario, Canada and internationally. Networking with purpose provides a depth of learning, shared experience and the chance to share ideas, best-practices and new learnings across the sector.

Across all staff and the board ongoing education is a priority with a continued focus on both the technical (i.e. insurance and financial services knowledge) and the co-operative so that we all work together jointly to ensure we achieve our goals and maintain our co-operative identity. We recognize that we’ll never be able to check a box for ‘complete’ when it comes to our co-operative identity and co-operative education; this focus is ongoing and evolving as our organization changes and grows.

Here's what participants are saying:
"I am now telling everyone that FC Barcelona is a coop... Love that they shared personal experience. Very useful presentation."
"Great work on this. It was so motivating to be a part of and I learned things that surprised me."
"I think the way you structured the material was fantastic and I left feeling so excited to be working in the sector."
“When we onboard new staff we think it’s important for them to learn more about credit unions and our system partners who support us in providing products & services to our Owners. A big part of that is educating new staff on the co-operative principles and how these co-operative principles set credit unions apart from other financial institutions."
- Jordan Moat, Regional Manager, Libro Credit Union
